RESULTS FROM BARLANARK (2017-04-14)

Published by Ross Watson

Despite not being our biggest venue, Barlanark is definitely one of our favourites. After yet another sold out show, with another fantastic crowd, we already can't wait to return.

One of the most exciting things for us is the warm welcome our Barlanark crowd gives to the up and coming wrestlers that take part in our PBW Academy Showcase matches. This time was no different as John Trettan & Owen Jakks took on Darren Vice & Brandon Maverick in a highly entertaining contest. This was a particularly exciting match as Maverick is actually a second generation wrestler whose father, Scott Maverick, previously wrestled for PBW for many years and coached at our Greenock Academy.

A highlight of Thursday's event for many was the ladder match between Dylan Angel and Krieger. While the fans were firmly behind Angel, it was Krieger who secured the victory. This now means that he has earned a shot at the PBW Heavyweight Championship, to be taken whenever he chooses. Krieger has suggested he would like to do so at a future Barlanark show so as to enrage fans there even further.

It may only be a few months before he gets his chance as we are looking to secure a date to return in October. This will mark PBW's 5th Anniversary in Barlanark and we will be sure to plan something special to mark the occasion.

If you can't wait that long for some PBW action, our next show is our annual Breaking Limits event which takes place in Greenock Town Hall on Saturday 22nd April. Tickets are available from www.ringsideworld.co.uk and from the Beacon Centre. Already confirmed to appear are WWE UK Championship competitor's Pete Dunne & Wolfgang, the 'Glasgow Savage' Davey Blaze, and fan favourite Chris Ridgeway.
