March Newswire

Published by Ross Watson

Hello PBW fans and welcome to the first ever edition of the new monthly PBW Newswire. The purpose of this newswire is to keep all our great fans informed of all the latest news from PBW and our great wrestlers.

January and February

As we head into the third month of 2009, PBW have already presented two excellent shows. Things kicked of on Friday 30th January as we arrived for our second ever show in The Alloa Town Hall. With a ticket sale increase of just over 10% on our last Alloa outing in August 2008 PBW management decided to start the show with a Tag Team Title match which saw Raging Storm challenge Johnny Star and EG Mackie who was replacing Star's regular Partner CJ Hunter for one night only. A popular win for the defending champions set the mood for the rest of the night and fans were not disappointed as they witnessed top matches from PBW regulars Wolfgang, The Highlander, BT Gunn and also a successful title defence from PBW Champion Lionheart as he beat Mike Musso to send the fans home happy. PBW would like to take this opportunity to say that we plan on returning to Alloa Town Hall no later that September this year. Stay tuned to pbwwrestling.com for further details.

Our second show of 2009 saw us return to one of our regular venues, The Greenock Sports Centre as we presented Fully Charged 2009. Just over 200 fans descended on The Greenock Sports Centre and created a superb atmosphere all night long. Fully Charged 2009 also saw the debut of Irish competitor Jordan Devlin as he teamed up with Sean South to form 'The Green White & Awesome' with both men picking up a victory over RTA (Danny Mclean & Sean Mckenzie). Once again on Feb 21st Lionheart proved to be a fighting champion by beating Adam Shame in a tables match to retain his title.

Pictures from both events will uploaded onto pbwwrestling.com shortly. It was also great to see so many up and coming wrestlers entertain the crowds over the two shows. Wrestlers such as Jason Rotanda, Raging Storm, RTA, Noam Dar, Jamie Feerick, J Hazzard, Rob Cage and Justin Thorn all of whom have been trained by PBW owner Ross Watson/Kid Fite and BCW owner Colin Mckay. With these guys already making their names who else will emerge from The Scottish Pro Wrestling Academy and become a pro wrestler? Details on training can be found online at www.pbwwrestling.com.
