ALL THE NEWS FROM MAXIMUM IMPACT 2022.

Published by Ross Watson

Since 2007, Maximum Impact has been an annual highlight of the PBW calendar and there was a real buzz heading into Friday night's show at the Greenock Town Hall. Expectations were high and yet Maximum Impact 2022 exceeded all of them. It was more than just a great show, it was a show that will go down in PBW history.

This is in no small part thanks to our main event which saw Sheikh El Sham & Daz Black go all out in a brutal war with each other in the PBW Championship Tournament Final. These two battled all over the venue and had the fans on the edge of their seats. Both men were on spectacular form but it was the "Orbit-Breaker" Daz Black who would end the night victorious and become the new PBW Champion. In a truly heartwarming moment, fellow PBW Academy graduates Logan Smith, Angel Hayze, Lucha DS and Ray Berani joined Daz in the ring to celebrate his moment. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Daz on his stellar win. We're sure he will be an outstanding champion.

It had also been a huge night for Ray Berani, who earlier in the evening was crowned "King Of Cruisers 2022", outlasting Martin Kirby, Logan Smith, Kieran Kelly, Jimmy Pierce & Lucha DS. The annual 6-man elimination match is always a highlight, and this year was no different as the 6 contenders met in an epic encounter crammed with fast-paced, high-flying action. Berani now joins a list of some of the best cruiserweights in the country with his well-deserved victory.

We also saw 'Turbo' Josh Terry and Ireland's Myla Grace make their PBW debuts, both proving to be an instant hit with the fans in Greenock and both picking up victories in the process.

Italian star Paxxo made a surprise return to PBW after he accepted Krieger's 'Open Challenge'. The match also saw England's Melissa Fierce make a surprise appearance after she had seemingly been brought in by Krieger to "watch his back". The presence of Fierce seemed to make a difference with Krieger able to pick up the unpopular victory on the night. Krieger has since been in touch with PBW management, demanding to be the first to challenge Daz for the PBW Championship. More information on this as we get it folks.

Daz may have won the PBW Championship and Berani crowned King Of Cruisers, but there were also two men on a mission to hold onto their PBW titles. TJ Rage & Dean Ford managed to leave Greenock with the PBW Tag Team Champion belts still around their waists after securing a victory over Scott Valentine & Hugo Harris. Despite the loss, both Valentine & Harris entered an impressive performance and we are sure we will see them back in a PBW ring in the not too distant future.

There we have it folks, all the news from the Greenock Town Hall. A spectacular show from start to finish. Credit to the roster who went all out to ensure PBW made an impact.

We would like to thank each and every person who came along on Friday night. We know things are tough for everyone just now and truly appreciate the support. Even with Greenock Morton playing at home and WWE in Glasgow over the weekend, we are proud to say, Maximum Impact was jam packed.

We will return to Greenock Friday 7th April 2023. More on that in the coming weeks.
