LARBERT RESULTS (2016-03-07)

Published by Ross Watson

This past Saturday the Dobbie Hall in Larbert was once again the setting for another eventful PBW show. An impressive crowd filled the hall as MC Simon Cassidy kicked off the evening with his usual flair. However, fans were in for some disappointing news as it was announced that Jack Jester would not be attending the show to defend his PBW Championship as advertised. Jester had informed PBW staff earlier that day that he was ill with the cold and was not fit to wrestle, leaving both fans and management highly unimpressed.

Immediately following this announcement, Jester's planned opponent, an understandably annoyed Stevie Xavier, made his way to the ring. Xavier made it clear that although Jester might not be prepared to fight him, he wouldn't be letting the fans in attendance down. Knowing that many members of the PBW staff are also wrestlers in training, he issued an open challenge to anyone willing to step in the ring with him. This opportunity was grabbed by rising PBW Academy talent, Dylan Angel. However, as the match was about to get underway, Dave Krycek ran to the ring, throwing Angel to the outside and going to work on Xavier. Although he was as impressive as ever, Xavier failed to pick up the win when Krycek used the ropes to secure the final pin. Although the bell had been rung, Krycek continued to beat down Xavier. Fans were delighted though when Angel ran back to the ring and climbed to the top rope, taking out Krycek with a flying knee.

As of yet it is unclear whether or not Xavier and Angel will get their planned match at a future PBW show, or whether either of them is seeking revenge on Krycek.

The evening also saw fan favourite, BT Gunn secure an impressive win over Aaron Echo, who was previously undefeated in PBW this year. Following his victory, Gunn shouted to the crowd that he was going after the PBW Championship. With Breaking Limits in Greenock Town Hall fast approaching- the very venue where Jack Jester screwed Gunn out of his title shot last October- fans will be wondering if Gunn is just picking up momentum before he goes for the gold.

The main event of the night saw Grado and Kenny Williams retain their PBW Tag Team titles against the team of Lou King Sharp and Krieger. While the high energy match had plenty of laughs, fans also saw the four men brawl all over the building, with Grado even leaving Lou King Sharp head first in a bin while he and Kenny picked up the win over Krieger.

If you don't believe us, keep an eye on our Facebook page for some photographic proof from Mr David Wilson, who was on hand to catch all the action from the evening.

PBW would like to thank the fans in attendance for once again creating such a brilliant atmosphere. We already can't wait to be back at the Dobbie Hall on October 1st!
