With Jack Jester suffering a dislocated shoulder the night before the show, it seemed as though Stevie Xavier might not need to defend his PBW Championship in Dumbarton after all. However, as news of Jester’s injury spread, both BT Gunn and Wolfgang approached PBW management individually and stated an interest in challenging Xavier for the title. The decision was then taken to give both men the chance to win the belt from the current champ in a three-way match up. This proved to be an action-packed main event that spilled out of the ring and through the hall. In the end, it was a devastating super kick from Xavier to Gunn that ensured his title reign continues.
The previously announced three-way match between Aaron Echo, Kenny Williams and Kieran Kelly was changed to a singles between Echo and Williams. Kelly instead took on the debuting Jesse Santana, a product of the PBW Academy. This proved to be a breakout match for Santana who thoroughly impressed the crowd and showed huge potential.
The show was really something special and we can’t thank our roster enough for their continued hard work or our fans for their support. Jack Jester has informed us he is healing well and we wish him a speedy recovery.
Pictures of the event by the fantastic Mr David Wilson will be available on our Facebook page shortly.
Our next event is in the Barrhead Foundry on June 17th in association with Anipals and Include Me 2 Club. Tickets for the show are on sale now and can be purchased at www.eventbrite.co.uk.
