FULL RESULTS FROM GREENOCK TOWN HALL

Published by Ross Watson

Last Friday, one of our biggest Greenock crowds to date reminded us why the Town Hall is one of our favourite venues to host a show. With a cracking atmosphere all night, added to by the electrifying presence of our guest MC Billy Kirkwood, this was quite possibly one of our favourite Greenock shows for a while.

The opening match saw the debut of rising English talent, Kip Sabian, who took on a cornerstone of British wrestling in BT Gunn. Despite his fierce competition, Sabian did not disappoint and showed exactly why he is making a name for himelf across the UK. The two men were well matched, resulting in a highly entertaining and evenly fought contest. While Gunn may have picked up the victory, it's highly likely we will see Sabian in a PBW ring again soon.

Another competitor from south of the border was Amir Jordan who was making his second appearance for PBW against Davey Blaze. Before the match, Jordan tweeted that he was back at PBW "to prove my worth and back up the hype against one of Scotlands best", and he certainly did that! Not only was the match between the two men extremely impressive but Jordan also managed to pick up the win, ending Blaze's winning streak.

Hot on the heels of his recent WWE tryout, Andy Wild is looking to make his mark in a PBW ring once again. How better to do so than by going up against the valiant, Grado? This was a highly entertaining and hard-hitting match from both competitors which seemed like it could have gone either way right up until Grado managed to get the pin on Wild. This was also less than 24 hours before Grado got to fulfill a lifelong dream by playing in the Rangers Legends charity football game at Ibrox - quite the weekend for him!

Not everyone will be pleased to hear it but the team of Krieger & Lou King Sharp are still able to call themselves PBW Tag Team Champions after defeating Dylan Angel and Lucha DS. The duo informed PBW management after the show that they would only compete at our upcoming Airdrie event if they could face a team they had never faced before. Diva behaviour aside, we think we've found a team they can't complain about facing!

Italian sensation, Paxxo, returned once again to take on Jack Jester. Despite a solid showing, as always, Paxxo was unable to get the win over Jester this time. With a string of impressive performances from Jester recently it seems he may be trying to put himself in contention for a title shot in the near future.

Our main event was quite possibly the match of the night with PBW Champion Stevie Xavier going one on one with the domineering, Rampage Brown. The match itself had very high expectations from fans and management alike and arguably managed to surpass them. After an all-out war between the two men, it was still Xavier who held the title. In March alone, he has managed to defeat TJ Rage, CJ Banks and now, Rampage Brown to retain his PBW Championship. With another three shows scheduled for April, it will be interesting to see if it is still Xavier standing triumphant at the end of them.

A massive thanks to everyone who attended the show and continues to support us at all our events. Special thanks to the Greenock Telegraph for featuring us in their publication. Pictures will be up shortly.
