MAXIMUM IMPACT 2013 DELIVERS IN A BIG WAY

Published by Ross Watson

On Saturday night PBW presented our annual spectacular Maximum Impact 2013 live at The Greenock Town Hall and what a night it was. Over 300 fans braved the harsh winter weather to turn out for our biggest show of the year. PBW Management are thrilled with how the event was recieved and are already hard at work to ensure the DVD is ready for our next live event at the Airdrie Town Hall on November 23rd.

Full results from Maximum Impact were as follows...

  • Jack Jester & James Scott bt Wolfgang & JD Bravo
  • Kay Lee Ray bt Red Lightning
  • Rampage Brown bt 'Unstoppable' Andy Wild
  • KING OF CRUISERS 2013 - Marks Haskins bt El Ligero, Joey Hayes, Kenny Williams, Noam Dar & CJ Banks
  • Lionheart bt Doug Williams
  • PBW TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH - Just Uz bt Davey Blaze & Tommy Marxs, The Coffey Brothers and Project Ego to become new PBW Tag Team Champions
  • PBW CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH - Liam Thomson with Carmel bt Marty Scurll to retain

Internationl star and British standout Mark Haskins became the sixth man to win the King Of Cruisers trophy in an exciting 6 man elimination match that also saw PBW Academy starlet Kenny Williams rise to the occasion and enter a star making performance even eliminating for former King Of Cruisers winner El Ligero before being eliminated himself.

Lionheart made his PBW return to the delight of the PBW fans picking up the well earned victory over former TNA star Doug Williams in a fantastic match. After the match however Charles Boddington appeared from the lockeroom and had some harsh words for the former PBW Champion, claiming he made a fool of everyone and let the fans down with by walking away because he 'was in a huff'. As an angry Boddington continued to tear into Lionheart TJ Rage stormed the ring coming through the crowd and nailed Lionheart with a brutal spear. Boddington then stated that if Lionheart was man enough he would face TJ Rage one on one at the Airdrie Town Hall on November 23rd. PBW management are hoping to speak to Lionheart today and have no doubt that he will accept the challenge.

Sadly PBW management were forced to make a tough decision on Saturday night and that was to vacate the PBW Tag Team Titles after Chris Rampage failed to show up at our biggest show of the year for his scheduled defence. Davey Blaze at the last minute had to find a partner which gave the up and coming Tommy Marx a huge opportunity to get in the ring with 3 of the UK's best tag teams. It wasnt to be their night though, after getting caught up in a ringside brawl that saw them and Project Ego battle all the way backstage, Just Uz were left to scrap it out with the Coffey Bothers and after some back and forth action Just Uz picked up the pin to become the new PBW Tag Team Champions.

By the time the main event came around you would never have guessed it was near 10pm and the fans had already witnessed 6 matches previously that night as that atmosphere was electric. Marty Scurll took Liam Thomson to his absolute limit in a stunning main event that stole the show. You could sense that the fans in Greenock believed Thomson's time as Champion was over. Once again though Carmel made the difference by holding down Scurll's feel allowing Thomson to pin Scurll for the three count and barely cling onto his title in the process.

We honestly cant thank the talent and fans enough, everyone in the town hall on Saturday night made Maximum Impact 2013 such an amazing night that PBW owner Ross Watson has already said was his proudest moment as a promoter.

Not only will we have pictures from the talented David Wilson online soon but the show was also filmed for DVD and as mentioned above we are hoping to have it on sale by November 23rd.

Already we cant wait to return to the Greenock Town Hall on May 2nd 2014.
